The stars will be out tonight as the NFL season kicks off with the Los Angeles Rams playing host to the Buffalo Bills.
Everybody has spent plenty of time harping on all of the big names taking the field this evening, but there is one X-Factor that has been flying under the radar.

That player is Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis. The last we saw of Davis was in the AFC Divisional Round. He led the team with eight catches, 201 receiving yards, and set a postseason record with four touchdowns in the Bills’ heart-breaking overtime loss to the Chiefs.
Davis and quarterback Josh Allen have carried that momentum forward throughout the offseason, which sets him up for a remarkable campaign as the Bills’ No. 2 wideout.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler also has high expectations for Davis this year. He was quoted in a his article available on ESPN, saying Davis’ breakout season will get off to a great start with tonight’s game on tap.

“THE FEELING OUT OF BUFFALO’S CAMP IS DAVIS, WHO HAS YET TO SURPASS 35 CATCHES OR 600 YARDS IN A SEASON, IS POISED FOR A MUCH STRONGER WR2 OUTPUT. JOSH ALLEN TRUSTS HIM, AND STEFON DIGGS DOUBLE-TEAMS WILL ALLOW DAVIS TO WIN ONE-ON-ONE MATCHUPS AGAINST A RAMS SECONDARY THAT IS NOT CONSIDERED DEEP.”
The Rams will use cornerback Jalen Ramsey to blanket Stefon Diggs for much of the night, which should leave Davis with opportunities to make plays down the field.
Allen’s strong arm and Davis’ big-play abilities are a match made in football heaven.
Davis won’t be flying under the radar much longer, but the Rams, along with the rest of the nation, will likely find that out this evening.
