Bengals QB Joe Burrow makes presence felt at pro sporting event without being in attendance

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is one of the most famous athletes on the planet these days.

After winning a national championship at LSU and unexpectedly taking the Bengals to a Super Bowl, Burrow has emerged as one of the biggest stars in the NFL.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise that Burrow is having an impact on sporting events that he doesn’t even attend.

The PGA Players Championship was held in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL this past weekend. The event was won by Scottie Scheffler, maybe thanks to Burrow.

Ok, Burrow had nothing to do with the win. But we did hear Burrow’s name yelled by a fan during one of Scheffler’s putts.

It’s not uncommon to hear random things being yelled by fans during PGA events (mashed potatoes! is an all-time great), but you usually don’t hear the name of an NFL quarterback shouted by the crowd.

Whoever this guy was at the Players Championship apparently yelled “Joe Burrow” after most of Scheffler’s putts.

I’m guessing the guy is a Bengals fan and was just looking for some attention.

Mission accomplished if that was the case.
