CBS Sports analyst Joel Corry listed Joe Mixon as one of his 15 most-likely cap casualties in the NFL this offseason.
“Mixon being on the field for 23 of Cincinnati’s offensive snaps during the AFC Championship Game while his backup, Samaje Perine, took 43 raised eyebrows,” Corry wrote.
“After a career-high 1,205 rushing yards in 2021, Mixon dropped to 814 last season.” The Bengals would save $7,291,116 against the 2023 salary cap if they released Mixon outright this offseason. It’s one of the more logical moves the team can make.
