The start of the regular season means one big thing is back. Injury reports are back! The Cincinnati Bengals released their first of the season on Wednesday and fortunately, it provides positive news.
The Bengals’ offense is set to receive an underrated boost as tight end Drew Sample was a full participant in practice.
Although Sample is far from a big name at tight end, he’s the number two behind Hayden Hurst.
At one point, the Bengals were expected to sign O.J. Howard before that fell through and they ended trading for Devin Asiasi.
Clearly, the Bengals know they’re in need of tight end depth so Sample being ready to go is huge news for Joe Burrow’s offense.
By the way, it was a tight end-exclusive list for the Bengals on Wednesday’s injury report.
An extremely short injury report for the Bengals.
TE Devin Asiasi didn’t practice due to a quad injury.
TE Mitchell Wilcox (ankle) was limited
TE Drew Sample (knee) was a full participant.

Asiasi didn’t practice with a quad injury and Mitchell Wilcox was limited.
The Bengals heavily rely on 11 and 10 personnel, but they rotated Sample into the lineup significantly over last season. He finished the 2021 season with a 42% snap count on offense.
By the way, the Bengals won’t be the only healthy squad in Paycor Stadium on Sunday.
There were only two names on the Pittsburgh Steelers injury report as WR Diontae Johnson and LB Marcus Allen fully participated in practice.
