Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor makes definitive statement about Bengals star

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor made a definitive statement about quarterback Joe Burrow after a big 20-16 win against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Sunday.

Taylor told reporters that Cincinnati wouldn’t trade Burrow for “anyone in the world”.

I’m sure there are folks who would prefer Patrick Mahomes’ improvisation skills, Josh Allen’s physical abilities, or Jalen Hurts’ playmaking abilities.

But I don’t think there’s any quarterback out there that leads like Burrow. And that’s no slight to the guys listed above. They’re all great players and MVP candidates.

There’s just something special with Burrow. He makes the plays that need to be made when they need to be made. And his confidence inspires the rest of his team to play the same way.

I mean, Cincinnati went into Nashville, without two of their best players (Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Mixon), and got a win against one of the hardest-playing defenses in the NFL. It was a gritty, grind-it-out win that happened largely because of Burrow’s leadership abilities.

Just a couple of months ago, folks were writing the Bengals off after their 2-3 start. Now they’re tied for the division lead as the calendar prepares to flip to December.

And as we all know, this is when Burrow is at his best. And he’s shown it lately as the Bengals have won three games in a row.

Not everyone will agree, but I think Taylor is right — if you were starting an NFL franchise today, I’m not sure how anyone but Burrow would be the first pick.
