As the wider football world waits to see what Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers announces as far as his playing future holds, Colin Cowherd believes there’s one team that would be a “weird fit” for the four-time MVP.
During his Cash It or Trash It segment on The Volume, Cowherd dismissed the Jets as a potential suitor for Rodgers.
The Jets are currently the favorites to land Rodgers with sports books giving them -170 odds. But Cowherd gave a list of reasons that Rodgers wouldn’t want to go to New York.
“Trash it. Weird fit, a bunch of young players, not a stable organization, significantly worse offensive line. Remember: Aaron has threatened and discussed retirement. It’s not a move he’s going to embrace. He’s going to head west if anything. Trash it,” Cowherd said.

That’s not likely going to change the minds of Jets fans though. The fanbase has been polarized by the idea of bringing Rodgers into the fold.
They may have helped themselves by hiring Nathaniel Hackett – Rodgers’ former offensive coordinator – as their new head coach. But they may have hedged their bets by hiring Derek Carr’s former QBs coach Todd Downing as passing game coordinator.
But it all starts with Rodgers announcing whether he’s going to return to the Packers or not. If he re-ups with Green Bay, it won’t matter whether he’s a great fit for the Jets or a terrible one.
