The Bengals are reportedly gearing up to pay QB Joe Burrow this offseason. Some believe he could reset the market with a massive contract extension.
However, WR Ja’Marr Chase trusts his quarterback will do whatever it takes to keep him around and the winning going in Cincinnati.
“Joe knows what he wants and how to set up his contract to keep some of his weapons around him.”

“At the end of the day, I don’t think Joe is too worried about how much money he’s gonna make because he’s already making a tremendous amount,” Chase said on NFL Network. “I think Joe knows what he wants and how he wants to set up his contract to keep some of his weapons around him, and I think that’s the biggest part for him.”
Burrow certainly set himself up to have a nice payday after leading the Bengals to two straight AFC Championship games and a Super Bowl. But how much is the question everyone is asking.
He would have to break Aaron Rodgers’ $50.3 million per year average if he wants to reset the market. If he decides to go that route, the team will likely lose Chase, WR Tee Higgins or both.
Although, if Chase doesn’t think those are Burrow’s intentions, why should we think otherwise? Chase may just be wishful thinking and only time will tell. But his mindset may change when it’s his turn to be paid.
