The Buffalo Bills are hoping for a historical season in 2022. One that involves the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl win.
It’s safe to say things are off to a great start after Thursday night’s 31-10 trouncing of the Los Angeles Rams.
The game was in the Bills’ hands from wire-to-wire, pretty much. The game would’ve been a blowout from start to finish if it weren’t for a couple of bad Bills turnovers in the first half.
Part of the reason for the Bills’ dominance -aside from the dogged pass rush- was none other than Josh Allen, of course.
Allen was nearly-prolific throughout the night. He looked poised, comfortable, and made several highlight-worthy plays that showcased why he’s the NFL’s top MVP candidate heading into the season.
Josh Allen of the @BuffaloBills is the first QB in NFL history to have…
– 250+ passing yards
– 50+ rushing yards
– 3+ passing TD
– a rushing TD
– 80% completions
– a victory…all in the same game.

As it turns out, Allen was so good that he made NFL history on Thursday night. Allen is the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least three touchdowns, run for at least one touchdown, throw for at least 250 passing yards, run for at least 50 rushing yards, complete at least 80% of his passes, AND win the game.
Allen’s final stat line read as follows: He completed 26-of-31 passes for 297-yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions during the game.
The former first-rounder also led the team in rushing with 56-yards on 10 carries and a touchdown.
Allen and the Bills pass rush pretty much split this win 50/50. It was exactly how most thought the Bills would win the majority of their games this year – through Allen and the front seven. Not a bad start to what the Bills are hoping is a huge year.
