It is dark times in Las Vegas. The lights are still bright, but the season is dim for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Coming off a shutout loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 8, many expected a bounce back performance from Las Vegas this week against Jacksonville.
The first half brought some hope, too. The Raiders got off to a quick start, and the offense looked the best it has all season.
Then, like a flip of a switch, it all changed in the second half.
The Raiders got conservative and took their foot off the gas against a very beatable Jaguars team. That blame should heavily fall on head coach Josh McDaniels.
He says that the team needs to play a full, four quarter game.
That’s much tougher when the coaching staff won’t do that as well, though.
McDaniels: “We’ve gotta learn to play a full four-quarter game.”
This is a veteran team. They should not have to learn that.

McDaniels needs to take some initiative from all of this.
The Raiders are consistently breaking down in the second halves of games. The execution has not been up to par, but the coaching plays a big role in debacles like the Raiders are enduring right now.
A season ago, Las Vegas was one of the best second half teams in the NFL. Lucky or not, they kept fighting to the finish of games under that coaching staff.
This season, it has been the complete opposite under McDaniels and company. That is unacceptable.

Their second half woes are historic. Of course, they are making history for all the wrong reasons.
That’s not what owner Mark Davis had in mind when he hired McDaniels to be the Raiders’ head coach.
The Raiders are running out of excuses. From players to coaches, no one is getting the job done well enough to get wins.
