Lewis Hamilton’s Trainer Angela Cullen Reveals Fitting Nickname at the Mercedes Garage

As a seven-time champion and one of the most recognizable figures in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton is also one of the most successful athletes in the world.

And one of the people who have boosted Lewis to claim that success is Angela Cullen. She is his physiotherapist and assistant,

but there’s a lot more to them than meets the eye as Angela shares a close bond with the Mercedes driver.

One could often see her around Hamilton in the paddock, assisting the Briton ahead of a Grand Prix.

Managing an athlete of Hamilton’s stature is never a simple job, but everyone around the team appreciates her role.

And as she is always hustling, Angela revealed people in the Mercedes garage call her ‘Action Ange.’

Well, it is an apt nickname, as her commitment to the cause is impressive. She also wrote on social media that Toto Wolff calls her ‘crazy.’

On her Instagram, the New Zealander posted a picture with Hamilton of the Monaco GP. Angela mentioned the chaos ahead of the race,

the unpredictable nature of the sport, and how she adapts quickly to any circumstance. Hamilton himself has praised Cullen’s role in improving his performances.

Furthermore, they also share a tattoo which suggests their close friendship. The bumpy and long straights in Baku did not do any favors for Hamilton.

The W-13 suffered massive porpoising issues as the Briton struggled physically after the race. But once again Angela Cullen came to his rescue.

As doubts about his participation in the Canadian GP crept in, Hamilton revealed his condition on social media. He also opened up on Angela’s treatment after the race.

On Monday, he posted, “Yesterday was tough and had some troubles sleeping but have woke up feeling positive today! Back is a little sore and bruised but nothing serious thankfully.”

“I’ve had acupuncture and physio with Ang [physio Angela Cullen] and am on the way to my team to work with them on improving.

We have to keep fighting. No time like the present to pull together and we will. I’ll be there this weekend, wouldn’t miss it for the world,”

Angela has played a crucial role in the Briton’s success. As he is going through a difficult period, she will once again have a part to play in boosting Hamilton’s confidence.
