The Green Bay Packers‘ 2022 season got off to a tough start with a non-competitive loss to the Minnesota Vikings. But after the last two weeks, it looks like the Packers are back on track.
Green Bay took care of business against the Chicago Bears in week two before winning a tight game against the Tampa Bay Bay Buccaneers this past Sunday. The win against Tampa Bay was especially impressive, considering it was a defensive battle against one of the best defenses in the NFL.
It was a tight game, but Green Bay prevailed with a 14-12 win. And Aaron Rodgers gets some bragging rights over Tom Brady. Not everyone, though, is that impressed by the Packers’ win over the Bucs.
Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd, for example, suggested that Green Bay isn’t a top 10 team despite their win over a really good Tampa Bay team.

Cowherd’s argument is that the Bucs had a bunch of players out and still almost won the game. He also said that Brady is going through a “marriage crisis” and that was also a reason the Packers had an edge in that game.
“They got no juice,” said Cowherd of the Packers. I’ve never thought Cowherd had great takes — this is the guy that said Joe Burrow would be a bust in the NFL — but this one is exceptionally bad.
Cowherd completely ignores that Sammy Watkins, the Packers’ leading wide receiver through the first two games of the season, also missed the game. As did Christian Watson, the No. 34 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs, a fourth-round selection earlier this spring, was the Packers’ leading receiver against the Bucs. That’s not exactly ideal, but they still won the game.
And all that matters is that Green Bay found a way to win the game. The Bucs have a great defense and they had a great plan for the Packers.
But Green Bay had more points on the board when the final whistle sounded. Where I’m from, a win is a win. And anytime you beat Brady, it’s a statement.
I’m sorry Colin, the Packers are a top 10 team in the NFL. And if you don’t see that, that’s a YOU problem. If you don’t believe me, just ask Green Bay fans what they think.
