A national media outlet seems to think Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor will be a candidate for another job this offseason.
That’s not a total surprise. Taylor helped lead the Bengals to just their third AFC conference title in franchise history a season ago.
It’s expected that his name will generate some attention.
Here’s the kicker though:
Taylor was mentioned as a candidate for a college job.
I’m not kidding.
247Sports named Taylor this week as a candidate for the Nebraska job.
As far as I can tell, the only reason Taylor was named as a potential candidate for the Nebraska job is because he played quarterback for the Cornhuskers for two seasons after transferring from Wake Forest.
Otherwise, there’s no connection between Taylor and Nebraska. I’d put the chances of this happening at less than zero.
There’s absolutely nothing for Bengals fans to be worried about here.
If anything, it’s just something to give Cincinnati fans a reason to laugh on an otherwise mundane Tuesday.
