The Kansas City Chiefs 2022-23 season has seen their offense making a statement against opponents. Their offensive duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have been a key factor into this year’s Super Bowl run by the Chiefs.
The connection they possess each game has caused problems for opposing defenses. However, their connection is closing in on an NFL record.

Heading into Super Bowl 57, the Mahomes-Kelce duo have 13 touchdowns during the NFL playoffs. Their touchdown record puts them two touchdowns behind the duo of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. However, their 13 touchdowns put them one touchdown ahead of the legendary duo of Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.
With Mahomes and Kelce sandwiched between two legendary duos, it shows how dynamic this duo is for the Chiefs and their offense.
While they have yet to overtake Brady and Gronk, they shouldn’t have an issue passing them with the way these two play.
Kelce factors into the Chiefs game plan each game, as this season saw him post a career high in touchdowns and receptions. With his young quarterback relying on him more, it gives the duo more chances to break the current playoff record.
While Mahomes had Tyreek Hill in prior seasons, Kelce has always been a factor in the team’s offense. His ability to make amazing catches makes him a favorite for his quarterback.
While the duo needs three touchdowns to break the current record, it’s an easy feat for the duo to break. They already have several games where Kelce had 3+ touchdowns in a game during his career. With the duo having a history of posting multiple touchdowns during a game, this record can easily be broken next season.
