Even though the Green Bay Packers (5-8) are on a bye, there is still much to talk about with the franchise.
Particularly with some of their young playmakers and stars. Stars who have played well all year, or up-and-coming stars who are playing with reckless abandon in recent weeks.
Rookie WR Christian Watson is one of those players. He’s on a strong sure the last four games and could likely finish with one of the greatest rookie seasons by a Packers receiver. Assuming he stays on his current path.
However, Watson isn’t the only player setting franchise marks. Raising themselves higher and higher into the list of Packers greats. Enter RB Aaron Jones.
At the moment, Jones is fourth all-time in Packers history, running for 5,010 rushing yards. Next week, he will only need 15 yards to go up to third in franchise history.
Surpassing John Brockington, who played in Green Bay from 1971-77.
From there, he will only be behind Jim Taylor (8,207) and Ahman Green (8,322) for career rushing yards with the Packers.
The Green Bay Packers still have four games left this season. Not only should Jones break the mark next week but is on pace for a career best in career rushing yards.
At his current career pace, Jones could theoretically break Green’s record just over halfway through the 2025 season.
Adding to his already impressive legacy, starting as a fifth-round draft pick.
