Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor had a great reaction to a pivotal play that Joe Burrow made against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The Bengals beat the Saints 30-26 thanks to a comeback led by Burrow.
In the third quarter, with Cincinnati trailing 23-14, it looked like the Bengals were about to face a fourth-down situation as it appeared that New Orleans had Burrow dead to rights.
Burrow, however, made some magic happen, escaped the pressure, and found Tyler Boyd for a first down.
Taylor told reporters after the game that he thought Burrow was sacked. Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who ended up near Taylor on the sideline because of his route, thought the same.

“Well, I thought he was sacked,” said Taylor after the win. “So I was standing there next to Ja’Marr. Ja’Marr’s route finished right next to me on the sideline. We both thought the play was over, so I had to tell him go back in and try to score.”
Chase ended up ending the drive with a 15-yard touchdown reception. The play from Burrow was a nice reminder for fans that despite a tough start to the season, he’s still a magician on the field.
And even Taylor and Chase, who see Burrow every day in practice, are still amazed at what Burrow can do on the field.
Burrow’s special. And anyone telling you otherwise is just….wrong.
